At Great Western Roofing, new construction roofing is one of the core services we provide for commercial and industrial projects. We work with owners, developers, general contractors, and project managers who need a roofing partner that understands schedules, specifications, code requirements, and long-term roof performance. With 20 years of experience as a Utah roofing contractor, we know how to install roofing systems that are built for durability, energy efficiency, and clean project closeout.
When you are putting up a new building, the roof is too important to leave to chance. A properly installed roofing system helps protect the structure, manage energy costs, support drainage, and reduce future repair problems. Our job is to make sure your new roof is installed the right way from the start, with careful attention to materials, details, safety, and workmanship.

Roofing Systems We Install
Every building has different needs, so we do not take a one-size-fits-all approach. We help select the right commercial roofing system based on the structure, climate, exposure, and long-term goals for the property.
Single Ply Roofing
Single ply roofing is a popular choice for many commercial buildings because it offers strong waterproofing performance, clean installation, and good energy efficiency. These systems are commonly used on low-slope and flat roofs. When installed correctly, single ply membranes can provide excellent protection against weather, UV exposure, and normal rooftop wear.
Metal Roofing
Metal roofing is a durable option for many commercial and industrial buildings. It performs well in harsh weather and can be a smart long-term investment for owners who want strength, longevity, and low maintenance. Metal roof systems can also support energy-saving goals depending on the design and finish selected.
Energy-Efficient Roofing
Energy-efficient roofing can make a real difference in building performance. We install roofing assemblies that help improve thermal performance and reduce heat gain. This can support lower operating costs and help create a more comfortable interior environment. For many projects, insulation layout and roofing material choice play a big role in long-term efficiency.
Our Process for New Construction Projects
We believe the best roofing projects come from good planning, clear communication, and disciplined installation. Our process is built to keep projects moving while protecting quality.
1. Pre-Construction Review
We start by reviewing plans, specifications, timelines, and site conditions. This helps us identify the correct roofing assembly, required accessories, and any details that need coordination with other trades. Early planning reduces delays and helps avoid issues later in the build.
2. Material and System Coordination
We coordinate the roofing system components so that insulation, membrane or metal panels, flashings, edge details, and drainage elements all work together as one complete assembly. A roof is not just a surface layer. It is a full system, and every part matters.
3. Installation
Our crew installs the roofing system according to manufacturer requirements, project specifications, and local building codes. We focus on clean workmanship, accurate detailing, and jobsite professionalism. Critical areas such as penetrations, terminations, transitions, and water-shedding details receive close attention because these are often where future problems begin if the work is rushed.
4. Quality Control and Final Review
Before project completion, we review the work to make sure the roof system has been installed correctly and meets project standards. Our goal is to deliver a roof that is ready to perform from day one and hold up over time.
Why New Construction Roofing Quality Matters
A commercial roof installed during new construction sets the tone for the life of the building. If the installation is done poorly, the owner may deal with leaks, insulation problems, drainage issues, premature failure, and expensive disruptions. If the installation is done right, the building starts with a strong layer of protection and a better chance at long-term performance.
That is why we pay close attention to:
- Proper attachment and secure installation
- Drainage design and water management
- Roof penetrations and flashing details
- Insulation performance and energy efficiency
- Weather resistance and wind considerations
- Compatibility of roofing components
- Manufacturer standards and code compliance
Who We Work With
Our new construction roofing service is built for commercial and industrial clients. We regularly work with:
- General contractors
- Developers
- Property owners
- Facility managers
- Architects and project teams
We understand that on a new construction project, timing and coordination matter. Roofing has to fit into the larger schedule, and delays can affect multiple trades. We work hard to stay organized, communicate clearly, and do our part to keep the project on track.
Experience You Can Trust
Great Western Roofing brings two decades of hands-on commercial roofing experience to every project.
